Britney Spears Posts Message After Orlando Shooting: “We Need to Accept and Love People”

Jason Merritt/Getty Images via ABCBritney Spears is making her feelings known about the Orlando shooting tragedy.

Along with a photo of a rainbow-colored heart, she wrote on Instagram yesterday, “I have not been able to find words to express how I feel about what happened in Orlando. Music and dance take me to a wonderful, happy, safe place… and for this to happen in a place where people enjoy those things makes me so sad.”

Britney continues, “This has to stop. We need to accept and love people for who they are. This is truly an attack against all of us, and I’m praying that we can join together and find a solution.”

Sunday’s mass shooting at the gay nightclub Pulse left 49 dead and 53 injured.

In lighter news, Modern Family actor Ed O’Neill told Ellen DeGeneres yesterday that Britney ran into him at the airport last spring and asked to take a photo with him. Problem is, he didn’t recognize her at the time! He only realized who she was after Britney posted the photo on Twitter and it got thousands of likes.
