The former The Voice contestant, who was 22, was fatally shot as she signed autographs following a performance in Orlando, Florida, Friday night. The shooter shot himself dead after being tackled by the singer’s brother, Marcus Grimmie.
At the vigil, Marcus Grimmie commented, “She loved this town. She loved this state. She loved singing. She loved the Lord and she loved me.”
Family friend Hope Compton said, “We’ll see her again. We’ll see her again in heaven one day.”
The vigil was held on the same day it was confirmed that The Voice star Adam Levine, who was Grimmie’s coach on the show, offered to pay for Grimmie’s funeral.
