Keokuk residents have now found a new place to send their recyclables.

The Keokuk Redemption Center is now open at 4th and Exchange and business is booming according to owner, James Breuer. The center has been very busy with residents bringing in all their recyclables. The center has been open since early August and is located in the southwest corner of the River City Mall.

The location replaces the center at 622 Main Street, which was destroyed by fire a year ago. Two other locations for the center were rejected for various reasons and the new location works well with area residents. Breuer still makes stops at local businesses and schools to pick up recycling.
