The annual Labor Day Parade will be held in Keokuk next Monday, September 5th, along Main Street. The theme this year is “Rumble in the Jungle” and there will be a special float to honor our area Veterans, both men and women. Several World War II Veterans will be participating and more are welcome. The Grand Marshall is former Mayor and Korean War Veteran, Mac Law. So far there are nearly 100 entries including high school bands, several churches, restaurants, local businesses and plenty of dancers. The Parade gets underway at 11 am at 19th and main street. Then throughout the day there will plenty of activities at the Keokuk Labor Temple. If anyone is interested in entering anything for the parade call Tina Hartman at 319-795-0408 or Cindy Schneider at 319-838-2901. For groups that have horses, horses can be unloaded at Faith Family Church at 24th and main.
