Two Hancock County townships will decide if they can become one in November.

Voters in Rocky Run and Wilcox Townships, south of Warsaw, will decide whether or not to merge as one township. The two townships are the smallest in the county and the least populated. Both townships have the same services like schools, water and fire.

According to County Board Chairman, David Walker, the combining of the two will be a benefit for the whole county. According to Walker, the merge would eliminate the duplication of services which, they would have to go to the county board for approval and the county board would control the election process.

Voters in the two townships would have to approve the issue on the November ballot for it to go into effect.
