Both Keokuk Chiefs Basketball teams were in action Friday night with mixed results. The boys hosted Mount Pleasant at Wright Fieldhouse and struggled against the 1 and 1 Panthers falling 87-38. Damon Wolter led the Chiefs with 10 points. The Southeast Conference’s leading scorer, Brady Sartorius had 23 points for Mount Pleasant. The loss dropped the Chiefs to 0 and 3 on the year. The Chiefs will be back in action tonight,, December 12th, in Kahoka against the Clark County Indians.

The Chiefs Girls Basketball team continued their winning ways in Mount Pleasant Friday night. The Chiefs moved to 3 and 0 for the season with a dominant 73-43 victory over the Panthers. Head Coach Mike Davis sized up his teams effort. The Chiefs were led in scoring by Makenzie Pezley’s 19 points. Senior forward Kacy Ames provided a spark for the Chiefs early on and finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Chiefs will head to Kahoka tonight, December 12th, for the first game of a doubleheader that will end with the boys game against Clark County. Coverage of both games begins at 5:45 PM on Z93.
