Lady Chiefs Soccer Prepares for Tough First Round Matchup

Keokuk Lady Chiefs soccer coach Meg McGhghy had a single day Wednesday to reflect on the Chiefs regular season that ended Tuesday night. McGhghy implemented some new offensive formations at the beginning of the year and she thought the girls responded very well starting off the season 4 and 0.

After 9 games the lady chiefs were really clicking when a combination of ailments and a tough portion of the schedule caught up to them last week.

During that stretch the Chiefs lost three straight games to powerhouses Fairfield, Burlington High, and Burlington Notre Dame. In the past week the Chiefs got back on track winning their final 2 games including one against a solid Holy Trinity Catholic team. Coach McGhghy feels that if they continue to play the way they have in the last 2 the Chiefs have a strong chance to knock off a tough Burlington team in the first round of substate playoffs.

The date is set for Thursday night at Burlington High School with a 6PM start time.
