Tuesday night the Keokuk Chiefs baseball team held their annual postseason banquet at the high school. Letter winners from both the JV and Varsity baseball teams were announced and individual awards were handed out by head coach Scott Rose. Much of the discussion regarding the program pertained to the way the season ended on a strong note. Senior Andrew Patterson felt that the team gelled toward the end of the year leading up to a district tournament victory over Southeast Conference Champion Mount Pleasant.
Senior Gavin Thompson had his name called for a half dozen awards over the course of the night and he felt that the Chiefs were on the wrong side of a few tough games but he was proud of his team for the season.
The Chiefs finished the season with 15 and 24 record but reached the district championship game last Monday.
