Just over one week into practice, the Iowa Hawkeyes are learning more about themselves every day. Not only are 2016 stalwarts CJ Beathard, Desmond Kind, and Jaleel Johnson moved on to the NFL, but the Hawkeyes have a new coaching staff arrangement on the offensive side of the ball. Brian Ferentz has now taken over as offensive coordinator while Tim Polasek oversees the offensive line and Kelton Copeland is working with the wide receiver group. Ferentz explained that despite new personnel each new coach owns the same philosophy as the rest of the coaching staff and playing physical, sound football is the only goal that matters. At the most important position in the game, the Hawkeyes continue to hold an open competition, giving first string reps to both sophomore Nathan Stanley and Junior Tyler Wiegers.
