Homecoming week has arrived at Keokuk High School this week and the many festivities associated with the event kicked off Monday. Kids showed up for the first day of school this week dressed up as though they were on vacation in a tropical area. The homecoming royalty was also announced as Abby Thompson and Cory Skinner were named freshman attendants. The sophomore class is represented by Payton Parrish and Dylan Jeffers. Juniors Piper Walden and Trevor McDaniel were named as the final attendants. Candidates for Senior Homecoming Queen are Michaela Davis, Kara Kavanagh, Jakala Hall, and Hana Woolf. King Candidates include Nolan Logsdon, Josh Schmitt, Justin Walte, and Matt Wyatt. The 2017 homecoming King and Queen will be crowned Thursday during an all-school pep rally. The theme of the week is “Silence the Beast” as the Chiefs will battle the Washington Demons in Volleyball and Cross Country as well as football on Friday.
