High Speed Chase Ends In Northern Lee County

A high speed chase took place in northern Lee County Monday afternoon. Sheriff Stacy Weber reported that 23 year old Wade Wagner, who is listed as homeless, entered Lee County from Van Buren County before he was pursued by Sheriff’s Deputies due to the fact that he was driving 100 miles per hour travelling in the wrong lane. Wagner sped north along Highway 27 towards Henry County before sheriff’s deputies were instructed to use maneuvers to bring Wade’s vehicle to a stop. Weber echoed a common theme that law enforcement from each of the 3 counties involved worked together to end the threat to public safety. The maneuver to stop the fleeing vehicle caused significant damage to sheriff department vehicle and Wade Wagner is now being held at Lee County Correctional Facility on fleeing, speeding, and multiple drug-related charges.
