Clark County R-1 School District is set to request bids for a 2nd time to build the new Indian Pride Learning Center in Kahoka, Missouri. The Clark County Board had put out a request for proposals to build the new learning center with a budget of 3.6 million dollars as architects estimated it would cost roughly 160 dollars per square foot to build. The returned bids were rejected by the school board in late September when the lowest bid came back at roughly 4.3 million dollars or 670 thousand dollars over budget due to subcontractors being in high demand. According to Clark County Superintendent Ritchie Kracht, the board has worked with architectural firm Klingner and Associates of Quincy to remove some square footage in the hopes that the next round of bids will come in under budget. Kracht stated that bids will be due in late November for the Indian Pride Learning Center and will be reviewed by the Clark County School Board in early December.
