Defendant Cell Phone Focused on in Sanders-Galvez Murder Trial

The cell phone belonging to Jorge Sanders-Galvez was the center of testimony Tuesday at the Lee County Courthouse in Keokuk during the 1st degree murder trial of Sanders-Galvez. Iowa Department of Criminal Investigator special agent Jeff Uhlmeyer explained that he was able to extract text messages, photos, videos, and social media conversations from the phone which belong to Sanders-Galvez that appear to corroborate previous statements about the 23 year old’s whereabouts on March 2nd 2016, the night when 16 year old Kedarie Johnson was murdered in Burlington. The phone evidence included Facebook posts which tagged Sanders-Galvez at the Burlington home at 2610 Madison Avenue where previous testimony had placed the site of the murder. A 25 second video was also extracted from the phone which showed fellow murder suspect Juron Purham having sex at the home at 2610 Madison which prosecutors say shows that the 2 suspects brought girls home to this home to have sex with them.
