Richardson the New Mayor Of Keokuk

City elections were held Tuesday throughout Lee County and the unofficial results are in. In Fort Madison Brad Randolph was reelected mayor while Bob Morawitz unseated Brian Wright as the City’s ward 2 council member and in Montrose Ron Dinwiddie was reelected mayor. In Keokuk, the mayoral race was soundly taken by Tom Richardson who garnered 1 thousand 153 votes for 62 percent of all votes cast for mayor. Devon Dade received 1 thousand 16 votes to Joe Shuman’s 739 in the at-large council race while in Ward 1 Mike O’Connor received 116 votes to Dianne Stanley’s 109. The largest Keokuk council race took place in Ward 5 where Mike Greenwald received 188 votes for 49 percent of votes cast. Barb Haas received 86 and Steve Rairden took 108 in Ward 5. Both Ron Payne and Susan Dunek were overwhelmingly reelected in their wards as they ran unopposed. The city election results in Lee County are still unofficial at this time as they will be canvassed by the board of supervisors on Thursday.
