Mancountry has struck again. The Keokuk based non profit group hosted a music trivia night at the Keokuk Labor Temple on Sunday night bringing in 104 people for a night of fun for a good cause.
Music trivia is a popular past time in the Tri-States, with the entry fee costing an average of $10 per person. However with Mancountry, the entry was something much more meaningful, a toy to donate for area children this Christmas. And boy did they deliver. Well over 100 toys were brought in and have already made their way to God’s Way Christian Center. Where volunteers there will make sure they make their journey to deserving boys and girls this Christmas.
Donations not only poured in from the trivia players, but hundreds of dollars from area businesses in the form of girt cards and donations. Businesses like Fort Worth BBQ, Beef Bread & Brew, Lexington Square, TJ’s Unlimited in Carthage, West K Mart, B Best Honey, Twin Rivers Storage, and Hope Home Healthcare. The donations did not end there. The Mancountry Crew has had a “Helping Hands Tree” stationed at the Labor Temple. Patrons could come in and pick a hand, donating that dollar amount to a local area family adopted by Mancountry after losing everything in a home fire.
