Antonio Dade Hampton, 58 of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, in a mountain biking accident. Formerly of Keokuk, Iowa.
Antonio was born November 10, 1965, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Mckinley Hampton Jr. and Arlene Fire. Antonio was a 1984 graduate of Keokuk, Senior High School. He loved nature and spending time outdoors. Biking in the mountains was a favorite for him. How fitting for Antonio to return home to the Lord doing the thing he loved the most. In the scenery he loved and surrounded by the mountains he called home.
Antonio worked in landscaping, construction, ranching and fencing. He loved cars and trucks and was great at all things mechanical. Antonio was an artist and created beautiful pencil drawings. For the last several years of his life Antonio developed a strong network of friends in Rapid City through Bible studies and at the Ministry, LOVE INC. Tony was employed there and volunteered his gifts with others. Antonio loved the Lord and attended Church on a regular basis. He was loved by many people and had a warm spirit and loved to talk and share life with others.
Antonio leaves to his cherish his memory one son Ashton Hampton of Des Moines, IA. His ex-wife Christine Hampton, Des Moines, IA. 2 sisters, Gloria Scott, Des Moines, IA. Deborah Anderson of Toledo, Oh., 4 brothers, McKinley Hampton Ill, Davenport, IA, David (Dee) Hampton of Joliet, IL, William Hampton of Keokuk, IA, John Fire, North Dakota, 1 brother in law, Samuel “Chris” Smith of San Diego, CA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Antonio was proceeded in death by both of his parents, 1 sister Adrenna Hampton Smith, 1 brother Kevin “Poncho” Hislaw.
A celebration of life will be held at New Bethel Church, Saturday August 31, from 5pm to 7pm.
