Brigido Anthony “Tony” Becerra

Brigido Anthony “Tony” Becerra, 58, of Carthage, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Tony was born on April 24, 1966, in Keokuk, Iowa. Tony was a 1984 graduate of Keokuk High School. He was united in marriage to Ketra King on April 19, 1986. Tony worked at Methode Electronics in Carthage for 17 years, before starting his own business in 2001. He owned and operated Midwest Exhaust in Denver, Illinois. Tony loved the outdoors growing up, but that took a back seat when he caught the racing bug. He raced Hobby Stock cars for many years before retiring in 2008. Tony passed this passion on to his son and continued to remain active at the track with his son’s racing career.

Tony is survived by his wife, Ketra Becerra, of Carthage, IL; his children, Amy Becerra, of Carthage and Austen (Kati) Becerra of Bowen, IL; his grandchildren, KallieAnn Kelly, Krik Kelly and Jayden Nicol; a father-in-law Ronald King, of Holman, WI; brothers-in-law, Kory (Sara) King, of Carthage, and William (Stacey) Mapes of Simi Valley, CA; a sister-in-law, Brenda (Mark) Rulon of Argyle, IA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Bonnie King and a brother-in-law, Gary Taft.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
