Alma Marie Evans, 77, of Keokuk, formerly of Alexandria, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Alma was born on May 6th, 1947, in Keokuk, the first daughter of Glenn and Alma (McDermott) Langwell. She married Gerald Evans on December 21, 1967. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2014.

Alma graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the class of 1967. She was a full-time homemaker and stay-at-home mom her whole life. She enjoyed collecting angels and butterflies. She enjoyed spending time with her family whenever possible, her grandchildren were her greatest pleasure. She also enjoyed taking care of her parakeet Blue and her chihuahua Taco.

Alma is survived by two sons Gerald William Evans and Floyd Edward Evans, both of Keokuk; two granddaughters Nicole Keehler and Christi Lynn Keehler, both of Brunswick, Georgia; three grandsons Tyler John Evans of Keokuk, Nathan Hickey of Brunswick, Georgia, and Stephen Glenn Edward (Alice) Hickey of Keokuk; and seven great-grandchildren: Kaysen, Gracie, Harper and Isobel, all of Keokuk, and Brandon, Trinity and Zayden of Brunswick, Georgia. She is also survived by two sisters Patricia (Langwell) Day of Keokuk and Elizabeth (Langwell) Haist of Hamilton, Illinois.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, his parents Floyd and Ruby Evans, her sister Verdna (Langwell) Gerstal, her brother Ross Langwell, two brothers-in-law Clarence Day and Forrest “Tim” Haist, and one sister-in-law Kathy Langwell, her great-granddaughter Mishea Kehler and many other family members.

Donations and memorials may be directed to the family for expenses in care of Patricia Day.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Keokuk.
