Mark Alan Ragar, 60, of Keokuk, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
Mark was born on May 9, 1964, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Carl and Betty Jean (Mann) Ragar. On December 30, 1984, he was united in marriage to Pamela Sue Satterly in Warsaw, Illinois. She survives. Mark was employed at the Keokuk Waste Water Treatment Plant for many years, retiring ten years ago. He was also a reserve officer for the Keokuk Police Department. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mark is survived by his mother Betty Jean Ragar of Keokuk; his stepmother Pat Ragar of Spalding, Nebraska; his grandmother Rubby Mann; eight siblings: Terri Micheal of Palmyra, Missouri, Tracy (Brent) Bourgeois of Wyaconda, Missouri, Debbie (Chris) Slevin of Spalding, Carl (Sheila) Ragar of Hinton, Iowa, Jean (Kenneth) Walkowiak of Spalding, Angie (Bill) Frey of Albion, Nebraska, Chrissy (Dave) Rasmussen of Albion, Nebraska, and Gary (Jessica) Corethers of Keokuk; three children: Ashleigh (Matt) Turpen of Rochester, Illinois, Melinda (Brad) Meredith of Williamsburg, Iowa, and Jacob Ragar of Keokuk; and three grandchildren: Annalee Harper of Williamsburg, Iowa, Nolan Turpen of Rochester, Illinois, and Brayson Ragar of Keokuk.
Mark is preceded in death by his father Carl Ragar; his stepfather Ray Corethers; two brothers: Carl Corethers and Eddie Corethers; and his grandparents: Vernon and Gertrude Ragar, William Mann and Clarence and Doris Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm (Noon) on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home, 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, Iowa, with burial to follow at Sandusky Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 am to 12 pm (Noon) directly before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the funeral home for expenses.
