Richard Dennis “Denny” Glick, 83, of Hamilton IL, passed away at 3:44 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Denny was born on June 13, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Maynard Glick and Rosaline M. Fluckiger. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids and earned a Dental Lab Technician degree from Kirkwood Community College. On November 21, 1960, he married Sandra Kay Paul in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Denny served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1964. His career with the railroads began with the Rock Island, then the TP&W, and finally the Keokuk Junction Railroad. Throughout his life, he took on various jobs, including opening a dental lab where he crafted crowns and dentures, remodeling houses, providing lawn care services and owned and operated laundromats. Denny was known for his active lifestyle and enjoyed taking on diverse projects, such as beekeeping and raising animals. He cherished spending time with his family, involving them in his adventures, playing games, sharing stories, and filling the home with laughter. Denny was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Keokuk.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of Hamilton; three children, Rick (Ruth Alden) Glick of Valley Center, CA, Paul Glick of Hamilton, and Jane (Chris) Von Kiedrowski of Hamilton; grandchildren, Abigail Schwartz, Andrea Alden-Glick, Chad, Corey, Codie, and Alayna Von Kiedrowski; ten and a half great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Ed) Fry of Van Horn, Iowa; and a brother, Mike Glick of The Villages, Florida.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Britcher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Evangelical Free Church in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Free Church in Keokuk. Printy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
