Sandra Jean Smith

Sandra Jean Smith, 84, of Keokuk, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison, IA.

She was born on August 30, 1941, in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Raymond Edwin, Sr. and Vieva Dirth Dodge.

Sandra was united in marriage to Melvin Smith. He survives.

For many years, Sandra worked at Keokuk High School, serving both as a custodian and a study hall monitor. She took pride in her work and enjoyed being part of the school community until her retirement.

Sandra had a true love for antiquing and treasure hunting at local auctions. Her home reflected her unique decorating talent and her appreciation for beautiful things. She collected everything from fine jewelry to antique furniture and elegant glassware. She also had a sharp eye for a bargain and cherished the conversations she shared with fellow antique enthusiasts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey Dale of Keokuk, and her four-legged companion, Snuggles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters.

In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
