Wesley Snipes joining Eddie Murphy in Netflix’s “Dolemite” film

Photo by Joe Scarnici/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Wesley Snipes is set to star with Eddie Murphy in Dolemite Is My Name!, a biographical film about real-life actor and producer Rudy Ray Moore.

Snipes joins a cast which also includes Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The New Jack City actor will portray D’Urville Martin, who directed the 1975 film, Dolemite, in which Moore starred.

As previously reported, Murphy will portray Moore, best known for creating the Dolemite pimp/hustler character on comedy recordings. Moore starred in original Dolemite movie and three sequels.

Hustle and Flow’s Craig Brewster will direct the movie, which was written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
