The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public help in locating and identifying a man who reportedly attempted to get an 11 year old girl to leave with him and attempted to touch her.
The Sherriff’s Office and the West Point Police Department were called to Pollmiller Park on Aug. 8 after the incident was reported.
According to the victim the man seemed drunk, prevented her from entering a restroom and reportedly asked her to come with him. He persisted for a short time then left when she refused to allow him to touch her.
The subject is described as a white male, around six feet tall, approximately 180 pounds with a bald head. Officers searched the area, but did not find anyone who fit the description.
They are asking anyone that may have witnessed the event or can help identify the subject to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division immediately. Also, if anyone has photographs taken at the beach in Pollmiller Park on Wednesday around 6 PM, please turn those in as well, the Sheriff’s Office wishes to review them.
The Sheriff’s Office can be reached at 319-376-2355.
