Daredevil as villain? Watch the ‘Daredevil’ season three full trailer now

David Lee/Netflix(NEW YORK) — If you’re fan of Daredevil on Netflix, you know blind attorney Matt Murdock, who spends his nights fighting crime as the masked vigilante, has spent the show’s first two seasons also fighting to keep his moral compass true.  But the new trailer for season three shows he might have given up on that battle.

“I used to listen to people asking for help,” Murdock says as the trailer begins.  “That’s what I was trying to do, is help people.”

We then see Murdock pull his old ninja mask over his head and eyes, rather than his Daredevil costume.

“But I was fooling myself,” says Murdock. “Darkness only responds to darkness.”  Whereupon the bad guy beatings begin.

We also learn that arch-villain Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, is out of prison, apparently after cutting a deal with the feds — and he’s made it clear that eliminating Murdock is at the top of his to-do list.

“There’s only one way to stop me but you’re not going to do it,” Fisk tells Murdock.  Meaning Daredevil will have to kill Kingpin to stop him.

“You sure about that?” Murdock replies.

But Fisk has another plan: to paint Daredevil not as the hero Hell’s Kitchen believes him to be, but as a villain. The final shot we see is of another man wearing the Daredevil costume, apparently as he carries out violent attacks around the city, as Fisk declares, “Daredevil is our true public enemy!”

Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, with Vincent D’Onofrio also back as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson returning as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively.  Joanne Whalley and Jay Ali also star in season three of Daredevil, debuting on Netflix October 19.
