Soybeans were sharply lower on fund and technical selling, in addition to the bearishness in soybean meal, corn, and wheat. Despite a week of rainy weather, USDA says Kansas wheat continues to be hurt by drought

More than one-third of the Kansas winter wheat crop is being significantly impacted by drought. USDA’s crop progress and condition report says only 28 percent of the crop is rated good-to-excellent with 95 percent headed. U.S. corn and soybean planting is close to normal after the slow start to the season. Still, delays due to wet weather persist in some areas, including northern portions of the Midwest and Plains. USDA: producers made, paid more in April

The USDA says farmers made and paid more in April than in March. The index of prices received was up 5.1%, with gains in both the grain and livestock indices following increases in prices for corn, milk, broilers, and market eggs, which canceled out decreases for cauliflowers, celery, and lettuce.
