Marietta S. Palmer

Marietta Sue Palmer, age 62 of Keokuk, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 1:24 PM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

She was born on January 19, 1964 in Keokuk to James and Mary Jairl Bishop. Marietta previously worked at the Holiday Inn and Thomas Cardella in Keokuk. Marietta was a happy and good hearted person who always found beauty in the simple things. She loved her cats and her home was always open to anyone. Most of all, Marietta loved her family and cherished her time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Amy (Tony) Gibbs of Keokuk; one son, William Shirley of Charles City; grandchildren, Eilijah Gibbs and Sophie Burns of Keokuk; one sister, Patty (Brian) Steffensmeier of West Point; one brother, David Bishop of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.

Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at 6 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the First Christian Church in Keokuk with a dinner to follow. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
