Neil Edward Schwab, 55, of Keokuk, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at his home in Keokuk.
Neil was born on January 6, 1971, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of George Edward Schwab and Alice Hall. After attending Keokuk High School, he went on to cook at several restaurants in Keokuk for many years before transitioning into retail. Neil was an avid Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals fan and attended New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. He was known for his famous BBQ and enjoyed relaxing with a fishing pole in his hands, taking long drives in his car, playing board games or chasing storms. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Neil is survived by his partner of twenty-seven years Karena Haage of Keokuk; four children: Alexis Olvis of Keokuk, Sam Tiemeier of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Madison Bailey of Carthage, Illinois, and McKenzie Thomlinson of Hamilton, Illinois; five siblings: Dan (Jeanie) Schwab of Keokuk, Ivy Printy of Keokuk, Beth Printy of Donnellson, Iowa, Erin Land of Keokuk, and Tara (Chris) Peabody of Hamilton, Illinois; four grandchildren: Kyler Cleesen of Keokuk, Arwen Brotherton of Cedar Rapids, Bexley Cleesen of Keokuk and Ezekiel Bailey of Carthage; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Neil is preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Karena Haage.
