Shawna M. Hutson

Shawna Marie Hutson, age 50 of Wever, IA, passed away on Saturday, March 21 at 9:53 PM as a result of an accident.

She was born on October 28, 1975 in Burlington to William and Leah Kuntz. Shawna married James Hutson on November 15, 1998 in Wever. Shawna was an office manager at Josh Denning & Associates. She always had the biggest smile and had a heart filled with love. Shawna loved animals, especially her dogs. Almost daily (weather permitting) she would sit on the patio enjoying her favorite beverage and would admire her beautiful yard and flowers she worked so hard on. She also enjoyed sitting around a good fire. Shawna spent countless hours helping at the Wever Fire Department, which she considered her second home. She enjoyed spending time on the river, listening to music and going to concerts. Rarely did you ever see Shawna at an outing without Jimmy and the kids, they were her world. Besides her family, one of her biggest loves was Jon Bon Jovi.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hutson; her son, Tylar and her daughter, Daegan (Laton Denning) all of Wever. Also surviving are her mother, Leah Kuntz of Denmark; her father, Bill Kuntz of Wever; brother, Billy (Kathy) Kuntz of Wever; mother, in law, Janet Scott of Niota; nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law, Jim Hutson.

Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the Wever Fire Station. A memorial has been established in Shawna’s name and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
