Texas officials have confirmed 4,000 head of cattle were killed at a feedyard in Hereford after 100-year floods hit the Panhandle of Texas Memorial Day weekend. Wisconsin ag road funding bill moves forward

The legislation that would provide one-time funding of 150 million dollars for Wisconsin’s agricultural roads has passed the State Senate. The Ag Roads Improvement Program, or ARIP is Senate Bill 247, and passed the full Senate unanimously.  The package was amended before passage, so it has been sent back to the Assembly for consideration. Soybeans were higher on commercial and technical buying, padding the weekly gains. The big influence is the strength in soybean oil, which was supported by demand expectations ahead of the RFS update. CME milk futures & cash dairy lower Friday

Milk futures were lower in the near term and cash dairy prices were down Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. June Class III milk was down $0.04 at $15.11.  July was down $0.10 at $15.97.  August was down $0.16 at $16.92.  September was unchanged at $17.79.  October through April contracts ranged from seven cents lower in March to ten cents higher in November. Canada backs US in trade dispute with Mexico over GMO corn

Canada has joined the United States in dispute settlement consultations with Mexico over a decree that ban’s genetically modified corn. In a statement Friday, Canada’s Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau and International Trade Minister Mary Ng said they share concerns with the US that Mexico’s measures are not scientifically supported and could disrupt international markets. Dairy exports see first major decline in some time

The U.S. Dairy Export Council says the volume of exports in April had its largest month-to-month decline in four years with weakness in nearly all categories.
