North Platte gives green light to funding for Sustainable Beef plant

A producer-owned beef processing plant planned for Western Nebraska has reached a critical milestone that will allow the facility to secure funding.  North Platte’s Community Redevelopment Authority (CRA) unanimously approved a contract with Sustainable Beef to be eligible for $21.5 million in tax increment financing. Iowa Ag Department takes additional steps to protect poultry from high-path avian flu

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is canceling all live bird exhibitions at fairs and other gatherings because of highly pathogenic avian influenza. Beef export sales hit marketing-year high

While export sales were down significantly for many commodities this past week, beef sales hit a marketing-year high and were up 40% on the week.  Increases were primarily for South Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan.  Rice export sales were also noticeably on the week.
