Thelma Rehder, 94, of Keokuk, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at River Hills Village in Keokuk.
Thelma was born on September 9, 1931, in Burton View, Illinois, the daughter of Obie and Jessie (Brockman) Spurling. On February 13, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert P. Rehder. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2001. She was employed at the telephone company in Lincoln, Illinois, for five years and moved to Keokuk in 1953. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for thirty-two years and Wilkins Pipe and Supply for nine years. Thelma was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and volunteered for several years, assisting with funeral dinners.
Thelma is survived by her daughter Michelle (Dennis) Marshall of Keokuk; her granddaughter Tina (David) Keane of Burlington, Iowa, her grandson PJ (Bobbi) Marshall of Fort Madison, Iowa; five great-grandchildren: Jordyn and Katelyn Marshall, both of Fort Madison, Dalton Keane (Molly) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Mari Kait (Ben) Sampson of Ankeny, Iowa, and Madeline Keane of Scotsdale, Arizona.
In addition to her husband, Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, three brothers and several nieces and nephews.
According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, Missouri. A funeral procession to the cemetery will leave from DeJong-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk at 10 am.
