The USDA says corn and soybean plantings in Indiana moved closer to completion last week as farmers took advantage of dry weather.
Ninety-two percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, compared to 97 percent last year. Seventy-six percent of the crop has emerged.
Eighty-four percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the five-year average of 75 percent. Sixty-three percent of the crop has emerged.
Eighty-six percent of the winter wheat crop is headed, and three percent is mature.
