This past Monday a delegation of the willing from the city of Keokuk travelled north to Davenport, Iowa to look at a potential new attraction for the city. That’s the term city administrator Aaron Burnett used to describe the group that visited the Rhythm City Barge to investigate whether the feasibility of bringing the barge to Keokuk.

John Helenthal brought a background in plumbing to look at the structural and piping while Dan Winn used his expertise in food preparation to verify the shape of the restaurant areas of the barge. According to Burnett, there is still interest in the barge after the tour of the barge’s facilities.

According to Burnett the information now needs to be presented to the city council for them decide if it is something they want to do before investigating if the relocation of the barge is economically feasible.
