Victim Name Released In Fatal Fort Madison Stabbing

The Fort Madison Police Department has released the name of the victim in Tuesday’s fatal stabbing in Fort Madison.

The victim is identified as 21-year-old Antwan Lawrence Brewster of Fort Madison.

On Tuesday, October 19th, 2021,  at 4:39 pm a 911 call was received from a downtown Fort Madison resident reporting a stabbing. The male tenant at 610 8th street, now identified as Lawrence, had been assaulted with a knife in the upstairs hallway with an unknown assailant fleeing the scene on foot. Lawrence was administered first aid by Fort Madison Fire Department personnel and then transported to  Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison in grave condition. He was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Fort Madison Police Department with the assistance of the Iowa DCI.
