Midday cash livestock markets

Direct cash cattle trade is at a standstill.  The bulk of the week’s business has wrapped up.  Asking prices for the few cattle left on showlists are around $143 live in the South and $228 plus dressed in the north.  Deals this week have been at $142 live in the South, generally $2 higher than last week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed business at mostly $226, about $2 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
