Cattle futures down on higher corn

Chicago Mercantile Exchange live and feeder cattle were lower, with feeders leading the way down on the higher corn. April live was $1.67 lower at $135.90 and June was down $1.50 at $132.45. March feeders were $2.40 lower at $151.65 and April was down $3.90 at $156.25.

Direct cash cattle markets were mostly quiet. Scattered sales were reported in the north at generally steady money. This week’s business has been light to moderate at mostly $138 on the live basis, down $2 from the previous week, with dressed sales mainly at $220, $4 lower.
