Beef export sales hit marketing-year high

While export sales were down significantly for many commodities this past week, beef sales hit a marketing-year high and were up 40% on the week.  Increases were primarily for South Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan.  Rice export sales were also noticeably on the week.

On the flip side, soybean export sales dropped 67% on the week, corn sales were down 47%, and wheat sales were down 7%.  Cotton sales declined 17% for the week.

The USDA’s next set of supply and demand estimates is out April 8th.
