Illinois wheat sees slight improvement

Temperatures remained slightly below normal while precipitation was above average in Illinois last week.

The USDA says winter wheat in the state is 51 percent good to excellent, up three percent on the week, with four percent headed.

Topsoil moisture is 96 percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is at 94 percent.
