Biden administration to allow summertime E15 sales

The Biden administration plans to allow summertime sales of E15.

President Biden made the announcement during a speech at POET Biorefining’s ethanol plant in Menlo, Iowa Tuesday afternoon, saying he’s leaning on farmers and biofuel refiners to help alleviate record-high fuel costs.

“Today I’m announcing (that) the Environmental Protection Agency is planning to issue an emergency waiver to allow E15 gasoline that uses more ethanol from homegrown crops to be sold across the United States this summer in order to increase the fuel supply.”

Biden says even though E15 is only available “at a few thousand pumps now,” his administration is investing more than $100 billion to build biofuel infrastructure for the future.
