HPAI detected in Wexford County

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is reporting an additional case of highly pathogenic avian influenza in a backyard poultry flock this week.

A 60-bird mixed-species flock in Wexford County has been confirmed with the virus and the department says it has been depopulated.

The department says they are continuing to respond promptly to all suspected cases to minimize the impact of the disease.
