MO crops fall further behind normal planting pace

Planting remains well behind in the state with widespread moisture across Missouri.

USDA says 27 percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, nearly 20 percent behind last year and 25 percent behind the five – year average. Three percent of the crop has emerged, 11 percent behind last year.

Five percent of Missouri’s soybean crop is planted, about half of last year’s total but close to even with the five – year average.
