Farmer makes up for slow start to the planting season

Despite a delayed start, a southwest Indiana farmer has nearly finished planting in the last week.

Mark Seib tells Brownfield “we’re getting close to soybeans and corn being done. We have about 280 acres of corn to go and 180 acres of soybeans to go. We’re in fairy good shape for what we’ve gotten done. It’s just amazing how much we got done in a week’s time. We only had one day of about a four-hour breakdown with one piece of equipment but it’s back running and going well.”

He says he’s hopeful rain holds off and warm conditions continue this week.
