Stepping Up to promote the versatility of soybeans and support Minnesota healthcare workers

Minnesota Soybean is kicking off a summer campaign that highlights the versatility of soybeans and supports first responders.

Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council CEO Tom Slunecka says the Stepping Up promotion comes on the heels of last year’s Driving Soy program that targeted getting soy-based tires onto first responder vehicles.

“This year, the Goodyear technology is now put into shoes. And they have a complete line of shoes with the Goodyear technology that is made with the same soybean oil that was used in the tires.”

He tells Brownfield more than three dozen county boards are eligible to donate up to 50 pairs of durable tennis shoes and work boots to local healthcare facilities.
