Heat Wave conditions to dominate the Heartland next, except northwest sections, next week

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and near- or below-normal rainfall across most of the country.  Unusual heat will prevail in the Southeast, while cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to the Northwest.

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather should be limited to the Pacific Northwest and the Desert Southwest.
