Cattle futures start the week lower

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle ended the day lower, pressured by the broader markets and the weakness in boxed beef during the session. August live cattle closed $2.32 lower at $133.87 and October live cattle closed $2.05 lower at $139.92.  August feeder cattle closed $3.15 lower at $171.32 and September feeder cattle closed $2.45 lower at $173.60. 

It was a quiet start to the week for direct cash cattle trade activity.
