Farmer unsure on quality of soybean crop

A northwestern Illinois farmer is pleased with his corn’s growth but says the verdict is still out on his soybeans.

Jon Rosenstiel tells Brownfield his ground has been at a moisture deficit since this time last year and recent hot conditions aren’t helping.

“It won’t take long before the yards start to dry up and the pastures dry up,” he said. “We’re, kind of, at the cusp of that right now.”

He said soybean conditions aren’t suffering too much yet being helped by recent scattered showers.
