An ag meteorologist says below freezing temperatures could have damaged emerging crops in the Midwest last weekend.
Drew Lerner with World Weather Incorporated says it depends whether the growing point of the plants were above the surface. Lerner says corn should recover if temperatures don’t heat up quickly.
“Sometimes it’s quicker to replant that crop and let it emerge and establish normally instead of waiting for better conditions for this crop to come back on its own.
