Butter stocks pacing ahead

U.S. butter stocks in cold storage have increased from last year while cheese saw incremental declines.

In USDA’s latest Cold Storage report, cheese stocks totaled nearly 1.5 billion pounds, up one percent from the prior month, but down slightly on the year.

Butter inventories were down one percent from last month, but up three percent from a year ago at more than 293 million pounds.
