Senate advances debt ceiling bill

The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that would raise the debt ceiling while reducing overall government spending on Thursday.

The bill includes a temporary expansion of work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The agreement is now headed to President Biden’s desk for a signature.
