Several MO crop conditions continue to decline

Despite the recent rains, Missouri’s corn, soybean and pasture conditions have declined in the last week.

At the beginning of July, USDA says Missouri’s corn crop is rated 40% fair, with 21% of the corn silking, ahead of average. Missouri’s soybeans are rated 42% fair with 22% of the crop blooming and 2% of soybeans setting pods.

Pasture conditions are rated 70% poor to very poor, a worsening of 2 percentage points from the previous week and a much different picture than this time last year when conditions were rated 46% good to excellent.
